About Money Years
Money Years is a collection of free calculators and guides built around one simple question: how long until I reach my money goal? Whether the goal is a first emergency fund, a house deposit, a debt-free date, financial independence or a million dollars, we want the answer to be one sentence you can understand, with the math shown underneath.
The site is run by a small team of editors who care about personal finance and clear explanations. We currently publish 104 calculators and a growing library of guides, and we add new tools when readers ask for them.
How we build the calculators
Each calculator uses standard, published formulas for compound growth, loan amortization and inflation. Where a tool depends on outside figures, such as price levels in different countries or the US consumer price index, we name the source on the page and note when it was last checked. Every calculator also lists its assumptions, because a projection is only as good as the inputs behind it.
All calculations run in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to us or stored anywhere.
What we are not
We are not financial advisers, and nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy, sell or invest in anything. Returns are never guaranteed. Use the results to plan and to ask better questions, and talk to a qualified professional before big financial decisions.
